Areas of specialty and interest: Knee injuries, arthroscopic knee surgery for ligament reconstruction (ACL, PCL) and meniscal repair, osteotomies around the knee, knee replacement surgery (total and unicompartmental) and revision knee surgery.

After obtaining my qualifications from the University of Cape Town, further specialisation was done in knee surgery, doing a 6 month fellowship with Dr Willem van der Merwe. I then spent a year doing a fellowship overseas in 2 of the top knee units in the world with 6 months with Professor Bellemans in Leuven, Belgium (specific attention to primary and revision knee replacements) and 6 months with Professor Neyret in Lyon, France (specific attention to osteotomies).

Actively involved in research and educational meetings locally and internationally with contributions and presentations.

Membership: South African Orthopaedic Society, South African Knee Society, International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
